Viveka is of Brazilian/Lebanese descent, born in The Gambia, West Africa. She believes we are all creative, but that art is a matter of focus and process. She has been a cultural entrepreneur for 14 years. Her stories are about the human spirit and it's capacity for resilience. Since 2006 she has researched, written and produced Campesinos...we will inherit the earth (2006, TFO & RDI), The Time it Takes (2010, Short-fiction), the series Hippocrate (2012, Radio Canada & RDI). She has directed War Correspondence (2014, Radio Canada & RDI) and After Circus (2016, CBC documentary Channel & Canal D). Her new documentary Carricks : dans la sillon des Irlandais (2017, Radio Canada & RDI) airs in March 2017. She is in research on her feature-length documentary Alouette (CBC doc channel) and is curating the traveling exhibition War Flowers with the Reford Gardens (2017-2018 Canadian War Museum, Chateau Ramezay, Visitor Centre Vimy, France).
